Some time ago I learned that Fibonacci can be applied to knitting. If you are not familiar with Fibonacci, he was a mathematician from the middle ages. He figured out the relationship of proportions, now known as the golden ratio (or number), Fibonacci sequence or 1.618 or Phi. This sequence is seen in practically everything. Iāll link to several articles if you wish to learn more. From reproducing animals, to sea shells and galaxies, the human form and sunflowers. (Mona Lisa, Parthenon, and the pyramids of Egypt, just to name a few). This ratio is present in many, many more surprising things. The first time I used this was in my felted bag. I loved the random look of it. This pattern is The Big Bag Pattern (free on Ravelry) by Maia Discoe (link ) Below are a couple of links if you wish to learn more.. Lola looks like she is almost half way done. You don't mess around once you start knitting something!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your shawl.
The pig is cute!!! Remember, I'm looking for a dog or lion... Love the color of your Lola!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO cute!! I can see all sorts of possibilities with that general shape. Great work.
ReplyDeleteDid you ever finish your Lola bunny? I have made it all the way to the ear attachment part, but for the life of me cannot figure out how to attach them. Any way I try it looks really crappy. Would you mind sharing how you finished your bunny? Thank you !

I just placed the ears and stiched them on, I pinned them first and used small stitches (using the yarn) to attach from the inside.
Let me know if you need more help
Good luck
Vicki
Thank you! This is my first project that I've had to sew anything to my knitting, and instructions that say only "attach ears" are not all that helpful. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck, I would love to see your finished little bunny!
