This and That (looking for inspiration and spring)

Here are some cool things I found while I was searching for some inspiration and lusting after spring.Check these out: Love Noro Kureyon and Silk Garden ? Who doesn't? According to Knitter's Review here is a knockoff of that yarn Boku from Plymouth . In this economy it may allow us to make some things that are on our "wish list". If anyone uses this, please let me know! Check out their free patterns also!! I can see this simple crochet flower added to a purse or make it into a pin! That way you can move it to whatever item you want. Thanks to Lion Brand Yarn. From Berroco here is a free pattern for a nice cardigan, I think this would be perfect for some cool spring days. I like the lattice looking stitch on the bodice, it makes me want to plant some morning glories. (that means I would have to knit this in blue, ha, my favorite color) From Hello Yarn check out this pattern for socks! Skull socks of Fury. This felted laptop bag is nice

Knit not, and out of touch

I think I have been in hibernation this month. My cell phone is broken, we stopped our cable TV and the weather has been dismal.     Thinking back we have accomplished a lot but it doesn't seem like it, big storm clean up and taxes, work is sucking the life out of me. I am planning on planting a garden and some flowers this year. I have picked up my knitting a few times but only to knit several rows. Still working on the felted purse, The Kelly Bag , I'm not happy with the yarn I picked out, but I am trying to get through it. Looking at the photo makes me think I will line this bag and see what I end up with. Actually this pattern is cute and simple. You could complete it in an afternoon. I will leave you with some links of bloggers that are doing something inspirational http://yarnloopie.blogspot.com/ http://spinningspiderjenny.blogspot.com/ http://queerjoe.blogspot.com/ http://www.eunnyjang.com/knit/2006/01/the_steeking_chronicles.html

Chainsaws, aprons and sock knitting

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Texas_Chain_Saw_Massacre This movie made quite an impression on me, I still think of it when I hear chainsaws. The ice storm cleanup is still going on and we hear chainsaws most of the day. Happy memories... The original movie The Texas Chain Saw Massacre came out in 1974 , I was in high school and it scared the poo out of me. It has turned into a classic and even got remade in 2003, if you rent it get the original, oh heck get them both. Getting back to normal. I stopped past the library and checked out some sock books. The ice storm we had brought with it days with no electricity. We came to appreciate our hand knitted sweaters, and socks. The book that I favored is the one I almost didn't pick up. It is Teach Yourself Visually Sock Knitting by Laura Chau The title turned me off and on the front it says "read less-learn more", OK I thought. For some reason this was a big turn off, but I checked it out anyway. I
