Knitting Dragonflies

After enough days of ice and snow for me, this photo appeals to me and my yarn.. May you needles fly as fast as dragonflies..

I am primarily a knitter, but also do some sewing, crocheting etc.... Now knitters don't need scissors as often as sewers. But come on now. I have bought many, many scissors, but when I need a pair there are none. Is there a scissor black hole in my house? I'm off on a scissor hunt, and ways to prevent this from happening again. I have seen scissor fobs but never was interested in them. Should I be now? How do you keep track of your scissors???? Please help me.... I found some scissor tails here or here . But they look like they might get in the way... It is amazing, after days in a house in the 30's, the furnace comes on and 60 seems hot. Our amazing bodies get use to what they need to. Top things we didn't have for the power outage, but will next time. More candles, you can never have too many and don't forget the dry matches or lighter. Wool socks, yes, I love all of our hand knitted socks, but we really LOVED them this last week. A battery powered radio, that takes no more than 4 C batteries, if this is your sole source of info you would be surprised at how fast it goes dead (I am going to buy one of those crank ones ). They have some that even charge your phone and are solar. Water, we have a well, no power, no water. I have found some 5 gallon boxes to fill up, with a spout, these can be used to manually flush your toilet. We are big campers, so my husband manned the camping stove. After almost 3 days we have our power back on. Many people here are still in temp. shelters, we are lucky to have our power. It is reassuring how people can help total strangers when in a terrible situation. I have seen many random acts of kindness. Here are a few pics of our house and street. I think I have spring fever. I have tore into the house with gusto. I have cleaned tossed and reorganized. So far I've gotten the kitchen done and the bathroom. No knitting, still in the middle of felted purse number two. It all started with the idea that I needed to declutter my sewing room. I still haven't gotten to that yet. Right now we are in the middle of a ice storm. Only a few inches of snow, but it fell on top of 3 inches of ice and sleet. It is sleeting right now and going to turn to snow (so they say). I am working all week so have had the fun of slogging around in it. I would rather be on the sofa with some popcorn and knitting. So far we are lucky and still have power. So I thought I would check in briefly before I start dinner. The dogs are perplexed, so disconcerting to find no grass when trying to answer natures call. Keep warm... I've never felted a purse before, but I found out how fun it is! I used the Retro Bag by Shelly pattern , it was easy and well written. I did make it larger. I used a purse zipper, that I found at JoAnns, it is convenient. Two zips that close in the center. My next felted bag is the Kelly Bag Pattern, available in a free PDF here , from JCasa Handmade , check out her other patterns! She blogs here . I had some leftover Malabrigo yarn , and found some multicolor to match it. It looks camo here, but I didn't realize that until I started knitting. This pattern looks adorable and fast.
