Knitters Tarot Tuesday Reading

Three of Pentacles or Coins Our archetype hammers at his skill on a solid pillar, primitive, raw creativity, while a couple stand by dreamily watching. By the sweat of our soul we produce some of our greatest masterpieces. This is a great card to draw for knitters or any artists. Your needles will fly and be strong this week. The Tarot is a deck of cards that originated over 500 years ago in northern Italy. Although the Tarot was first used in a game called Triumphs , it was quickly adopted as a tool for divination, and popularized by occult societies such as the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn . The early Tarot symbolism was deeply rooted in Medieval and Renaissance Europe. Today, the Tarot is far and away the most popular tool for spiritual introspection in the West. Enjoy your knitting this week! May you needles fly as fast as dragonflies! Technorati Tags: knitters Tuesday Tarot reading , Three of Pentacles , Three of coins

Quirky free knitting and crochet pattern links, with some misc thrown in

While checking my email I ran across a few things to share. +++ THE BEER SWEATER by Melissa Martensen for when you love your beer enough to want to keep it toasty warm +++I fell in love with this knitted horse pattern by  Lion Brand, correction!! The credit for the pattern should go to Claire Garland, author of the charming and magical book, "Dream Toys," where the original pattern was published. Thanks to Kristina for pointing this out, and my apologies! +++ BUGKNITS Miniature Knitting by Althea Crome , amazing teensie knitted items. +++ Crochet Poo pattern by naidascrochet , yes, it says it is a "potty aid", we just used M&M's for the kids and all of the dogs, works great. Although I might like to use this at my workplace. Your gonna catch flies by Tawnya Hopkins, is adorable, and the kids can count the flies, as the frog "eats" them. Just don't let the kids eat them. I always like to have air fresheners around I liked this

Knitter's Tarot Tuesday Reading

Four of Cups   The boy is sitting against a tree, which is often symbolic of being rooted yet reaching higher. The cup the boy is staring at is being held by a cloud, out of a mist a clarity comes, yet he is ignoring the other three cups that are sitting on the ground, which may mean you are distracted from other things in your life. As Knitters, this week we may be unusually focused on a particular project, this is not a bad thing, you may have the concentration that is needed to tackle a particular tricky project. Just be reminded of your other obligations.   The Tarot is a deck of cards that originated over 500 years ago in northern Italy. Tote bag or Organizer purse frenzy

Ok this is the link that started it! This is the first tote I made. And this is what is going on now.... I was in a slump for awhile, now I am in the middle of projects all over. I am planning on making the handles on these bags different, some longer, and I am adding a Velcro closure. Of course there will be organizational pockets. Natural Dyeing for your fiber

I have been interested in dyeing my fiber, or yarn I have spun, During my reading I found two interesting books, if you want to know more about dyeing with natural plants. Natural Dyeing by Jackie Crook has some especially beautiful illustrations. It goes through the basic premise of what you need, how it works and I like that there are pictures of the yarn with various mordants. I think this book is more inspirational, wets your appetite for what may be accomplished with natural dyes. Some of her examples are using exotic woods, and plants that are not available to the general population of North America. Some are common, and the colors we see are dazzling vibrant colors. It is inspirational and could be used as a template for experimentation of plants in your area. The photos alone are worth a good look. Dyes from American Native Plants by Lynne Richards & Ronald J. Tyrl is a very all encompassing dyeing book, from history of, supplies an
